Love is in the air, and whether you’ve been planning for weeks or you’re just now scrambling to find the perfect gift, this February 14th is sure to be special when you send a Picture Show video!

We’ve updated our “Recommended” songs especially for Valentine’s Day! Search the Recommended tab in the Picture Show maker for our favorite songs for your Valentine video.  Of course there is still a wide array of romantic songs to choose from in the Library so you’re sure to find the perfect song. And we have some some fun ideas for Valentines videos that can make the big day even more memorable.

1. Tell him or her how you feel
Maybe you’ve been married for two weeks, or maybe you’ve been best friends for years. A video with inside jokes, sweet sayings, and your favorite pictures as a couple will let your honey know how much you care as you both look back on your great times together… and look forward to the times still to come.

2. Reminisce about a vacation
Did you honeymoon in Aruba? Take an anniversary cruise in the Bahamas? Meet on a ski trip in Aspen? A Picture Show video with all the footage of your romantic escapades is a great way to relive and reminisce about those magical moments.

3. Share with your family
Share a video with your family (especially if you live far away and don’t see them often) to show them how happy you and your significant other are together.

4. Propose
(It’s been done, we swear!) Nervous about popping the big question? Find a picturesque or sentimental spot and pull out your laptop to watch a video that shows your favorite moments together – and ends with The Question. By the time she’s done watching, you’ll be on your knee with the ring, and with a proposal like that there’s no doubt what the answer will be.

Valentine’s day is drawing near and in a couple weeks, we’re devoting an entire day to celebrate the heart shape. There are lots of  large and small examples of hearts out there to photograph (like these bleeding hearts shown above).  Those little candy hearts or chocolate truffle hearts are always a delicious prop…yum! Perhaps you know of a sweetheart tree or if you’re lucky enough to live by the shore, maybe create your own heart on a romantic beach!  Whatever you choose to do, just create your photo with lots of love and get those creative juices flowing!

OFFICIAL ENTRY RULES
To officially enter the Creative Challenge, you must tag your three submissions with creative-challenge-hearts. You can then view them and everyone else’s submissions on the DISPLAY PAGE (it updates about every hour). To find out more about this, read the Using Tags on Creative Challenges post.

Submission Guidelines
1. Our editors look for sharp, clear horizontal images that are at a minimum resolution of 800×600 (submissions can have larger resolutions than this). Currently, vertical images cannot fit in the homepage template. Therefore, we cannot publish vertical or narrow panoramic images.

2. Images with added text or images, including watermarks, logos, copyright symbols, graphic borders, frames and time stamps, will not be considered for first place or being featured on the homepage big photo of the day at a later date. Collages, however, are acceptable. Images submitted should be your own.

3. Please do not submit pictures that have already been featured on the homepage.

4. The Creative Challenge runs from 12:01 a.m. on January 18th,  through 12:00 p.m on January 30th  (all times EST). 

5. 3 pictures per person (regardless of how many member accounts you have) tagged exactly (including hyphens) with: creative-challenge-hearts. *Note: Images that don’t meet the exact guidelines can be submitted and viewed for everyone to enjoy, but please understand that we cannot publish images that don’t meet minimum guidelines on the homepage.

Glass is a fascinating and beautiful material to photograph for the many ways that the material can be formed and how light can accentuate its beauty. There was no limit to creativity for this challenge. Beauty can be found in household paperweights, vases, bottles, light bulbs, drinking glasses as well as stained glass and sculptures.

Once again, there were several outstanding entries which were such a visual delight to browse through. We hope you enjoyed this challenge as much as we enjoyed viewing them.
