So put on your walking shoes, grab your camera and go for a walk. You’ll be surprised at the photographic opportunities that present themselves. We’d love to see all of your photos as you can submit as many as you like!

Please tag your photos with Weekend Photo Walk 223 and then post your links in the comment section. Your entries won’t be judged—this is just for the fun of it!

Hi Weekend photo walkers! Not much in the way of photo ops this past weekend, and the sleet and rain did not encourage pulling out the camera, but at least I got out and got a couple of woodsy shots.

OK, Squak mountain WA is a REALLY low key place for photography, but good for exercise.
The view was….well socked in this day.

The Blockhouse almost seemed picturesque with a dusting of snow! No one knows what it was once used for.

Hi Friends: For this week I have photos of my hike at Switzer Falls in the San Gabriel Mountains, California. Before the highway went through this area it was popular resort back in 1884 to 1936. Shirley Temple, Henry Ford and Clark Gable visited this place for quick get away. Back then there was bar at the end of the trail too, and church on Sundays….those were the golden days of hiking.

After a beautifully sublime spring hike at Cape Sebastian, the next day was not as good weather-wise. The following hike was 9 miles in the rain at Cape Ferrelo…oddly enough, I did not see any other hikers all day. Wonder why?

The last day of the President’s Day weekend was spent on the Lower Rogue River Trail. It seems like no matter what part of the Rogue I’ve hiked on, the river is always reliably photogenic. Great views of Copper Canyon kept my camera busy.

This week, take a look at the signs of spring in the north Georgia Mountains. Start with the first photo from last week in my “4 photos a week” album. It and the next 7 photos.

I have more kinds of flowers blooming already. Maybe I will do a flowers of spring album for 2012 and add to it as more start blooming.

There was a report on TV showing a Snowy Owl perched on top of a light pole at a local lake marina. This was news as they are rarely seen as far south as Texas, and it was only the 5th time in history this bird has been seen in Texas. I decided to go in pursuit of this elusive bird, as did several others with cameras in hand, but on this day the bird had left the area. I spoke with several bird watchers with their professional cameras who were staking out the spot should the bird return. Instead I found a “bird” of a different kind, kite surfers out on the lake.

Come on a four island cruise in the Hawaiian Islands with me. Actually I have just escaped the Canadian winter by setting an old album of photos to music, so I can at least dream of a warm climate. Cheers, Elm

This is the time of winter in Alaska when the World Championship Sled Dog Races and the Iditarod Race to Nome are held. These dogs are spetacular and love to run so I decided to treck out along the back trail to catch the “mushers” and “doggies” in their environment. I hope you enjoy the walk.. http://outdoors.webshots.com/album/582408596DRMXeM?start=0

I went for another short walk close to home in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains. I didn’t find much to photograph other than a relatively rare white-headed woodpecker. I don’t have the lens required for longer distance bird photography, but I took a few distant shots and cropped them. Enjoy the walk.

This was a foggy week. So my walk was a foggy walk, or may be I was just in a foggy mood.

Hi Walkers
In the Catalan Pyrenees there are villages with nearly a thousand years of history, now nearly abandoned, but still stands the magnificent church that our ancestors built with great fervor at the beginning of the second millennium
